PG&E will be performing their emergency preparedness drill next week which will simulate a Public Safety Power Shutoff.

The exercise will allow PG&E to be prepared in the case of shutting off power in certain areas during a wildfire.

PG&E says electricity will not be intentionally turned off during the drill.

Helicopters are scheduled to fly on May 24, May 25 and May 28.

Here are the following locations for those dates:

  • May 24: west of Templeton and Paso Robles
  • May 25: east of Nipomo including the Huasna area
  • May 28: at both Templeton, Paso Robles and Nipomo areas
