Power outage impacts transmitters that provide NewsChannel signal

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - A power outage caused by a car that crashed into a pole is affecting two transmitters that provide the NewsChannel 3-12 signal on Sunday.

The transmitters are located at Cuesta Peak and Paso. This outage may affect over-the-air viewers.

Pacific Gas & Electric said they have crews on the scene working on repairs. Power is expected to be fully restored by 3 p.m.

PG&E reported on their outage website that the incident happened around 5:58 a.m. Sunday morning. It initially impacted 202 customers, however, power was restored to 117 of those individuals by 8:11 a.m.

PG&E said the remaining 85 affected residents and businesses will be without power until restores are complete.

They said their crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power by the estimated 3 p.m. deadline.
