2.7 magnitude earthquake hits north of Cayucos

CAYUCOS, Calif. - A 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck just north of Cayucos Monday evening.

The US Geological Survey said the quake hit around 7:38 p.m. and had a depth of 5.8 kilometers.

Its epicenter was recorded as being about five miles northeast of Cayucos.
