SLO County Sheriff’s Office reports 3rd deputy to test positive with COVID-19

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- San Luis Obispo County reports their third deputy that tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office says the deputy developed symptoms on Monday and was tested that day.
The test results came back positive on Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office says the deputy was not in contact with the public. They were based at the main headquarters and was wearing a mask while on duty.
The deputy is now recovering at home.
Since March, the Sheriff's Office has reported a total of six deputies that have tested positive for COVID-19, this includes three correctional deputies and three patrol deputies.
All inmates and staff who had contact with the positive cases have been tested and are negative.
The Sheriff's Office assures that the jail has been vigilant with screening, testing and isolating sick individuals to protect staff, inmates, and the public.
Sheriff's say that the jail has not seen any new inmate COVID-19 cases in over four weeks.
