SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County reported 161 new coronavirus cases between Saturday and Monday. There are currently 2,254 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in San Luis Obispo County, including 16 deaths.
The first death in the county was announced Saturday, April 4. The county has reported 15 coronavirus-related deaths since July 1. The majority of these deaths are linked to outbreaks at nursing facilities.
The county removed one previously reported death from the county totals while public health investigates the cause of death. That death is now considered "under investigation."

378 people are recovering at home and 20 people are hospitalized, 6 of which are currently in the ICU. 1,839 people are considered recovered.
More than 40,000 tests have been conducted between the County Public Health Department and a number of private labs.
