SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria firefighters responded to a grass fire at Elks Rodeo Grounds on Saturday around 11:50 a.m.

Firefighters said there was a downed power line in the area.

Fortunately, the fire was extinguished quickly. PG&E responded to the scene to take care of the downed line.

PG&E told NewsChannel that the downed line caused an outage in the area at 12:04 p.m. that affected nine buildings. All power, however, was restored by 4:25 p.m.

They are still investigating what caused the wire to come down.
