Two Oxnard men arrested for breaking into vehicle, stealing property
OXNARD, Calif. - Two Oxnard men were arrested by Ventura police Thursday morning after allegedly breaking into a resident's vehicle and stealing his property.
On April 5, officers responded to a call of a vehicle broken into on the 100 block of North Olive Street in the City of Ventura. The victim told police his car had been ransacked and his belongings stolen.
Using investigative tools at the scene, detectives said they were able to identify one potential person of interest.
On Thursday, May 6, Ventura Police detectives served a search warrant at a residence associated with the person of interest, located on the 1600 block of W. 5th Street in Oxnard. During the search, they reported finding stolen items from the vehicle theft.
After the victim identified the items as his, two Oxnard men were arrested. The first was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia and the second was arrested for flash incarceration.
A Ventura County Superior Court website review shows that the first Oxnard man has prior convictions for burglary, vehicle theft, theft, identity theft, receiving stolen property, possession of controlled substance, felony evading, under the influence of a controlled substance, hit and run and driving under the influence.
