SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies seized 92 firearms and over 90 grams in methamphetamine on Saturday, after a traffic enforcement stop.

Deputies report that at around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, a Dodge Charger Hellcat drove in front of pedestrians near Camino Del Sur in Isla Vista.

Deputies stopped the car in the area of Los Carneros and Hollister. After searching the car, they found over 90 grams of methamphetamine and 22 firearms, 12 of which were loaded.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Goleta, was arrested and booked at the Main Jail on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance while armed and possession of an assault weapon.

The case was then forwarded to Sheriff’s detectives, who authored a warrant to search the man's residence.

After searching the man's home in Goleta, they seized 70 additional firearms and approximately 50 containers of ammunition and magazines.

This investigation remains ongoing.
