Arroyo Grande man arrested on suspicion of drug possession, sales

GROVER BEACH, Calif. -- Grover Beach police arrested an Arroyo Grande man on suspicion of drug possession and sales on Tuesday.

On Tuesday at around 4:41 p.m. Grover Beach police responded to reports of a reckless, and possibly intoxicated, driver in a silver Lexus sedan. Reporters say the car was swerving back and forth into traffic and was last seen driving westbound on Grand Avenue from Highway 101.

Officers were able to locate a matching car with a driver inside on the 600 block of West Grand Avenue in Grover Beach.

They made contact with the driver and proceeded to investigate the car.

In their investigation, they found a significant quantity of prescription medication and packaged narcotics for sales including over 1800 Xanax pills, 10 grams of methamphetamine and over $600 in cash.

The driver of the car was identified as an Arroyo Grande man.

He was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale, transportation of specified controlled substances for sale, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
