Santa Maria police investigating Sunday shooting

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday evening in Santa Maria.

It happened on the 400 block of East Orange Street around 7:25 p.m.

Police arrived and discovered evidence of a shooting but were unable to find a victim or suspect at the scene.

Shortly after, police were informed of a shooting victim arriving at a local hospital.

The shooting victim, who was described as a juvenile by police, was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle. They were in critical condition when they arrived at the hospital, police said.
