BUELLTON, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Buellton liquor store Thursday evening for a report of an armed hold-up.

It happened around 5:51 p.m. at Houston's Liquors on the 400 block of Avenue of the Flags.

The suspect was reportedly armed with a handgun and fled the scene before deputies arrived. He was last seen running north of the area behind businesses.

Once they arrived, deputies established a perimeter and requested assistance from Sheriff’s K9 Units and a County Air Support helicopter in order to locate the suspect.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspect is still outstanding.

Surveillance images were released showing the suspect wearing a black brimmed baseball hat, Columbia brand black hooded sweatshirt and dark shorts.

A Public Safety Alert was issued around 7:45 p.m. ordering Buellton residents to stay inside and shelter in place while deputies searched the area. The order was lifted an hour later at 8:49 p.m., however, the suspect was not yet located.

The sheriff's office said the suspect is still at large and considered dangerous. If you see them, do not approach them and call 911 immediately.
