Lower State Street businesses vandalized

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Three businesses on lower State Street in Santa Barbara had their windows smashed this week.
Santa Barbara Police are investigating the three incidents, which all happened early Tuesday morning and are believed to be linked to the same person or group. Bricks were found on the sidewalk and were likely what shattered the windows.
Police did not find evidence of any items being stolen from the businesses.
“We will do a video analysis of many of the video cameras in and around that area to try to bring the right individual to justice,” said Anthony Wagner of the Santa Barbara Police Department.
All of the businesses were on the 400 block of State Street, though not directly adjacent to one another.
Energy Tattoo & Body Piercing was one of the businesses with a shattered window. The shop has already been hit hard during the pandemic; it has been closed for most of the past six months due to coronavirus state guidelines.
"We haven’t been able to produce any money since March, so it’s been really tough,” said Sofi, owner of Energy Tattoo. “And the sad thing is that we miss everybody. We miss our customers. We miss everybody. We can’t wait to get back to work.
"I feel fortunate that luckily nobody got hurt, nothing was stolen and that it was just the glass. So in that sense, I feel very blessed that it was just the minimum amount of damage."
