Oxnard police seek community’s help with 2019 homicide investigation

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department is seeking the community's help with the investigation of a homicide that took place in March of 2019.

Around 10:30 p.m. on March 21, 2019, Oxnard police responded to reports of a shooting that occurred near the 900 block of Spruce Street.

Upon arriving, officers located 20-year-old Jose Aguilera suffering from a gunshot wound. Aguilera sadly passed away from his injuries.

Since this homicide occurred, investigators have continued to work on uncovering leads in the case.

New information was reportedly provided to investigators offering additional direction, however details could not be shared with us due to the ongoing investigation.

Police said they are still seeking the public’s assistance with any information regarding this incident in hopes of catching those responsible.

As a reminder, the City of Oxnard offers a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the city.
