Atascadero police search for bank robbery suspect

ATASCADERO, Calif. - The Atascadero Police Department responded to reports of a robbery that occurred at the Golden 1 Bank on El Camino Real around 4:03 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers said they learned that a white man reportedly entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money and warning them that he had a gun.

Police said the man obtained an undisclosed amount of money from the bank and ran.

The man was also reportedly seen getting into a black four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan, before leaving the area.

The Atascadero Police Department Investigations Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the bank to begin investigating. The FBI was also notified and is assisting with the investigation.
