CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Multiple Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies had rifles and handguns out when they surrounded a Carpinteria home Sunday night in search of two suspects believed to be involved in multiple crimes including vandalism.

The home on the 4600 block of 9th Street is under construction. The property owners were alerted by a security camera on the property.

Neighbors say vandals have "tagged" the inside in the past during the construction process.

Sunday about 5:45 p.m. severalsSheriff's units were called to the address, and also on the back side which faces Carpinteria Avenue.

Guns were drawn while the house was search by a K-9 unit. A nearby shed was also inspected. The backyard had not been landscaped yet and was mainly dirt.

The suspects were not found.

Video from the property was shown to patrol deputies who matched it up with the property to determine where the suspects may have gone.

Several neighbors were outside and said they were aware of prior trespassing at the property. One said a posting on social media alerted others to be on the lookout for further incidents.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department serves as the police department for the City of Carpinteria.
