Suspect arrested after stabbing incident in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. - Oxnard police responded to calls of a stabbing incident Sunday night.

The incident occurred on the 2700 block south of "C" street where a 37- year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Offers found the alleged suspect a few blocks away from the incident. Police arrested 21-year-old Jesus Martinez. During the investigation police found out that the victim and another man were involved in a fight. Martinez intervened and stabbed the victim.

Martinez was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Ventura County jail.
