India Prime Minister’s US visit brings him to New York and celebration of cultural ties

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States has brought him to New York. On Sunday, Modi addressed an estimated 13,000 people at a cultural celebration at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum. Speaking for more than an hour, Modi praised the United States’ return this week of nearly 300 antiquities to India. The appearance came a day after Modi attended a summit hosted by President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, with other world leaders. On Monday, the prime minister is expected to attend a United Nations summit in advance of this week’s General Assembly.
