Santa Maria police investigate early morning shooting

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria police are investigating an early morning shooting outside the 7-Eleven convenience store on the 1900 block of South Broadway at Carmen Lane.

SMPD says it happened sometime after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday outside the store that is open 24 hours.

The condition of the victim and a motive are unknown.

No word yet on any arrests.

It follows a shooting this past Sunday morning on the northwest side of the city that left a Guadalupe teenager dead. Santa Maria police said that killing was possibly gang-related.
