Truck slams into Goleta apartment building
GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a truck that slammed into an apartment building on the 100 block of South Kellogg Avenue in Goleta.
Authorities say the truck hit two vehicles in the parking lot before going forward and hitting the structure. But the two-story building will be checked out by inspectors to assess the damage.
Santa Barbara County Fire indicated that the crash may have been the result of the use of the wrong pedal.
"We believe the driver confused the gas pedal and the brake. It was reported that he uses both feet to cover both and his feet may have stuck on the accelerator when the incident occurred," said Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Howard Orr.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m. and no injuries were reported.
