National Preparedness Month: Are you ready for a disaster?

Are you ready for a disaster? September is National Preparedness Month and the state of California is reaching out to residents through the program Listos California.

Listos means "ready" in Spanish. Through the program California hopes to reach one million of the states most vulnerable residents and get them ready.

But Listos California isn’t just for the most vulnerable. Anyone can learn the basic preparedness steps and be ready for a disaster.

5 STEPS FOR PREPAREDNESS

  1. Get official alerts
  2. Make a plan
  3. Pack a go bag
  4. Build a stay box
  5. Help friends & neighbors get ready

From its inception last fall, Listos California has directly engaged more than 900,000 vulnerable Californians with preparedness information. And with its Disaster Ready Guides available in seven language, the program is ready to help all Californians.
