Two men wanted for attempted murder in Santa Maria arrested in Kern County

MARICOPA, Calif. -- Two men who were wanted for attempted murder in Santa Maria were arrested for attempting to kidnap a truck driver in Maricopa on Sunday, according to a news release from the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
The men tried to kidnap the driver at knife-point, according to the sheriff's office. They demanded the driver take them to Bakersfield.
The driver got into her truck and drove off. She was not hurt.
The suspects were identified as 20-year-old Moses Abeyita and 21-year-old Feliciano Ramirez. Both live in Santa Maria.
They were found in Maricopa and were arrested. Abeyita and Ramirez were charged with attempted kidnapping and multiple misdemeanor charges.
Abeyita had an active warrant from the Santa Maria Police Department for attempted murder, the Kern County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies provided detectives with information about Ramirez and he was also identified as a person of interest in the attempted murder.
