Santa Maria issues water flushing warning
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The City of Santa Maria reminds building owners and operators to flush out their plumbing to ensure safe water when they open back up.
Any facilities that have been dormant or close for several weeks should follow some basic tips. For example, run faucets and showers at full flow for at least 5-10 minutes, longer if it's a bigger building. After that, replace any filters.
Run at least one empty load in dishwashers, let drinking fountains run, and replace ice in ice makers.
