SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - No injuries were reported after a vehicle crashed into the Bank of America on Coast Village Road in Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara City firefighters say the vehicle crashed into the back side of the bank, where the parking lot is located, around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday.

The manager of the bank told firefighters at the scene that this is the second time this has happened there. The manager said there is no rail or anything to prevent cars from hitting the building.

The bank was closed after the crash and was expected to remain closed at least for the remainder of the day.

Firefighters tell NewsChannel 3 a crew will need to shore up the building and make sure it is still structurally sound.

The fire department says the driver involved in the crash was shaken up, but was not hurt. There were customers and employees inside the bank at the time, but none of them were in the immediate area of the crash.

Police were called to the scene to look into what caused the crash.
