Firefighters prevent vehicle fire from spreading to Santa Barbara home

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Firefighters were able to stop a vehicle fire from spreading to a Santa Barbara home Friday.

The fire broke out around 10:40 a.m. in the 2100 block of Gillespie Street on Santa Barbara's Westside.

A parked van caught fire next to a garage. A nearby also fence caught fire.

The smoke was visible for more than a mile.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the vehicle and the fence before it spread to the garage and a neighboring home.

Firefighters didn't say what caused the fire.
