Wilson Conciecao
Ventura County Sheriff's Office

The Ventura Police Department Command Center received several 911 calls reporting a male seen assaulting an elderly woman near the intersection of Telephone Rd. and Victoria Ave.

The male was later identified as 40-year-old Wilson Conciecao. He pushed the woman to the ground and left the area on foot.

Officers responded and detained Conciecao a short distance away.

During the investigation, officers determined the 66-year-old female victim was standing at the corner of Telephone Rd. and Victoria Ave., when Conciecao approached and tried taking some of her property that was nearby on the ground.

The victim, who did not know Conciecao, confronted him about taking the property, and that's when he picked up the victim and threw her into the nearby lanes of traffic.

He then left without taking any property.

The victim reported feeling pain and was checked by Ventura City Fire personnel at the scene and then was released.

Conciecao was arrested for felony elder abuse, battery on an elder, assault with a deadly weapon.

A review of the Ventura County Superior Court website shows that Conciecao has several open cases from 2019 for illegal lodging, possession of drug paraphernalia and vandalism.
