Stacy Silva leaving Santa Barbara County Animal Services

The public face of Santa Barbara County Animal Services is leaving after 13 years with the department, including during several emergencies, including the Thomas Fire and Montecito Debris Flow.

Tuesday marked Stacy Silva’s last day as Community Outreach Coordinator. She has worked as a spokeswoman for animal services.

She appeared each Friday on the Morning News for several years, bringing adoptable dogs and cats to our studio.

“I’ve enjoyed the public. I’ve gotten to see a variety of families pick their newest family member,” said Stacy Silva. “I’ve gotten to help increase our live release rate here at the shelter. I’ve had the pleasure and the honor of being a part of so many different things with animal services that have prepared me for my new role.”

Her new role is a position with the Santa Barbara County of Emergency Management.
