Breast milk donor drive at Cottage Children’s Medical Center

Cottage Children’s Medical Center is hosting a breast milk donor drive for nursing moms to help provide nutrition for babies in need. When babies are born premature, their mothers sometimes cannot produce enough milk, which is vital for their care.

Cottage has been working with Mother’s Milk Bank of San Jose for many years to collect milk donations. Mother’s Milk Bank of San Jose is one of only four breast milk banks in the country, and the only one on the West Coast. Right now, it is asking for help from nursing moms to maintain the available supply of breast milk.

The donor milk drive is taking place on Thursday, October 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Women’s Services Conference Room at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
