Oxnard woman hit by minivan dies from injuries
A woman is dead after she was hit by a car in Oxnard on Monday night.
The Oxnard Police Department says they responded to the collision which happened at the intersection of Oxnard Boulevard and Ash Street.
Police found that a 1998 Toyota Sienna minivan driven by a man was traveling northbound on Oxnard Boulevard when it struck the woman crossing to Ash Street.
The woman was immediately taken to the Ventura County Medical Center. Despite medical treatment she died from her injuries. She was identified as a 70 year-old Oxnard resident whose name has not been released.
The driver of the minivan was identified as a 54-year-old man resident of Oxnard. He remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Investigators believe that speed or alcohol and drugs were not part of the accident.
The incident is still under investigation.
