Miller McCune receives top honors at State Street Ballet Gala

Philanthropist Sara Miller McCune was honored for her support of the arts and overall philanthropy at the annual State Street Ballet gala Sunday night.

The evening of food, entertainment and fundraising took place in the Loggia Room of the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore in Santa Barbara.

McCune said she was impressed with the State Street ballet and is “very proud with what you have done in your first 25 years and I expect that you will do, in fact I know and I believe you will do even better in the next 25 years.”

When it comes to ballet, at an early age she says “I fell in love faster than (with) my husband!”

McCune is also co-founder and president of the McCune Foundation, and founder of SAGE Publishing Guide.

The uniquely created evening mixed dining, music, live ballet performances and videos.

The fundraising drive was led by auctioneer Geoff Green who worked the rectangular center stage in all directions collecting bids and donations of all levels.

The State Street Ballet is looking forward to its October 2020 based on the life of Vincent Van Gogh and in association with the opening of the renovated Santa Barbara Museum of Art that has scheduled an international exhibition of his work.

The Ballet also announced it would be traveling to the Chaplin Museum in Vevey, Switzerland and the BFM Theatre in Geneva in April of 2021.
