Suspect in Oceano Dunes shooting charged with attempted murder
The charges against Francisco Orozco in connection to the shooting at the Oceano Dunes have been dismissed, the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office said.
The suspect in Sunday morning's shooting at the Oceano Dunes has been charged with attempted murder.
Francisco Orozco, 19, of Oakland appeared in court Wednesday to face the charges.
Orozco is accused of shooting at multiple people during a dispute at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area just after midnight Sunday. Orozco and the other victims were attending a concert at the Dunes.
Six people were injured including five who were shot. They were transported to the hospital for treatment following the shooting. All six are expected to be okay and have been released from the hospital.
Orozco has been charged with one count of attempted murder, five counts of assault with a semi-automatic weapon, and several enhancements including allegations that he discharged a firearm and that he inflicted great bodily injury on five separate victims.
His arraignment has been continued to May 15. His bail is set at $1 million.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is still asking for the public's help to determine what happened during the shooting.
