Lompoc K9 officer and police dog partner enter retirement

A Lompoc K9 Officer and his police dog completed their final tour of duty Friday morning.

According to the Lompoc Police Department, K9 Officer Stephen “Dino” Delauretis and his 9-year old Belgian Malinois partner “Bolt” officially entered retirement at 3:00 a.m. Friday.

Officer Delauretis served the Lompoc community for the past 32 years as a patrol officer, detective and canine officer with his K9 partner “Bolt” for the last eight years. Dino garnered over 70 commendations and awards during his tenure with the Lompoc Police Department and served for four years in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining the police department, Lompoc police said.
