The City of Goleta celebrates opening of newest neighborhood park

The City of Goleta has opened its newest park Saturday.

At 10 a.m., the Jonny D. Wallis Neighborhood Park located in Old Town at 170 South Kellogg Avenue, was opened for the first time to community members in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The grand opening featured food, fun and activity demonstrations between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

City officials are excited about the opening of this new park.

” We have been waiting for this day for a long time, and we’re thrilled to be able to open it up to the public, ” said Mayor Paula Perotte . ” We broke ground last May and have watched with anticipation the construction over the last ten months. This is a fantastic place for our Old Town neighbors, from children to adults, to enjoy outside activities. ”
