Fire crews knock down house fire in Carpinteria

Firefighters responded to a fire at a home on the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Carpinteria Wednesday morning.

The call went out just before 11 a.m. The first crews climbed on to the roof, and cut a hole open as they searched for the source of the flames.

Carpinteria/Summerland Fire Protection District Chief Greg Fish said they checked the attic that had smoke coming out of it and made an aggressive interior attack.

Fire crews were able to put out the fire in a matter of minutes.

While some crews were on the roof, other firefighters protected belongings below inside the home.

The cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
