Deputies resume search for evidence near home of Oceano homicide victim, ask public for assistance

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office spent Monday morning searching for evidence in the recent Oceano homicide.

Deputies found 90-year-old Lawrence “Larry” Bross Thursday during a welfare check at his home on the 1400 block of Strand Way.

Bross was an environmental activist known for advocating against people driving on the beach behind his neighborhood.

Investigators are calling him a homicide victim.

An autopsy was performed last week to determine a cause of death, but those results have not been released yet.

Deputies tell us they were looking for potential evidence in the homicide case Monday morning.

Some members of the dive team were part of the search.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help from the public for any information regarding the investigation. Anyone who may have had contact with the victim prior to his death or any neighbors with surveillance footage are asked to contact the sheriff’s office detective division at 805-781-4500.
