Santa Maria woman wins $170,000 ‘Surf & Turf’ giveaway
One lucky Santa Maria woman won the keys to multiple vehicles and watercraft on Sunday night in the Chumash Casino Resort’s ‘Surf & Turf’ giveaway.
Leticia R. of Santa Maria won the drawing and took home two 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicons, two See-Doo RXT-X Performance Watercraft, and one Can-Am Maverick X3 ATV. This prize package is valued at $170,000 and is considered one of the largest prize packages offered in the casino’s history.
“It’s exciting to hear my name called, and everyone started waving to me and saying, ‘Leticia! Leticia!” she said through an interpreter. “It’s a lot of excitement right now. Everyone is being so kind.”
Her husband says the vehicles and watercraft will make great toys to have at their family’s property in San Felipe, Mexico.
“My son and I are getting ready for our fantasy football draft, so it would be great to take all of this to a lake and make a weekend of it when we have our live draft,” he said.
The Resort says they have offered weekly car giveaways throughout its history but decided to up the ante in 2018 by adding quarterly grand prizes more than $100,000, giving guests the chance to accumulate drawing entries over a three-month period for a grand prize while they earn entries for weekly car giveaways.
The next quarterly giveaway will be a 2019 Fleetwood Class A Motorhome, valued at $150,000 and will be given away on October 28.
