Resident robbed at knife point by two suspects in Nipomo

A resident was robbed at knifepoint by two suspects in Nipomo Sunday night.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from a resident saying they were robbed by two suspects at knifepoint in the 1800 block of Louise Lane around 10:30 p.m.

The caller gave a description of the suspects and the car they used to drive away.

Responding deputies say they spotted a vehicle matching the description of the getaway vehicle in the area of Riverside Road and Division Street in Nipomo. Deputies say the suspects saw them and attempted to get away but was soon stuck in a nearby field.

The Sheriff’s Office says one male suspect attempted to run away but was detained by responding deputies. The second male suspect was detained by a Sheriff’s Office K9 known as “D.J.” with the help of a CHP helicopter.

Suspects Sergio Arturo Flores, 19, and Wilson Ricardo Cortez, 21, from Santa Maria were taken into custody on felony robbery charges.

Stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim. The victim reported no injuries during the robbery.
