Tow trucks out in full force in Isla Vista for Halloween Weekend

Tow truck companies are raking in a lot of money from Isla Vista students this weekend.

Parking restrictions enforced by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office went into effect Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Law enforcement, UC Santa Barbara, and associated student body groups are doing what they can to keep Halloween weekend festivities in Isla Vista local. Fencing and roadblocks were put up throughout sections of the college town to control crowds. University officials are hosting several events on campus to keep students entertained and safe.

Towing costs are estimated to be around $400. Some students were shown mercy.

“That was probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. I’m very appreciative of that. That was really cool,” said Joseph Kishineff, a UCSB student.

Restrictions will continue until Wednesday, November 1 at 6:00 a.m.
