Alleged victim of child abuse by Santa Maria woman speaks out

An impassioned plea for Georgina Ruiz-Bojorquez to tell the truth from 20 year old Lily Soto, one of the alleged victims who say they suffered abuse from Ruiz-Bojorquez.

“She would hit us all the time – like even for no reason – we wouldn’t even do anything, she would just hit us,” Soto tells us.

Soto says her and her siblings constantly tried to avoid being sent to Ruiz-Bojorquez’s house for daycare once the abuse began. “We were scared of her right away like when we knew we were gonna go; we didn’t want to go but my dad I guess – he didn’t put the two and two together but my dad won’t even admit it now,” she explains.

In fact, on Wednesday in a Santa Maria court, her father Benjamin Soto told us Georgina Ruiz-Bojorquez’s was innocent.

“She took care of my seven children and she’s not guilty – she was like a mother to my children,” Benjamin Soto says.

Now almost 10 years later, Lily Soto is a mother herself and she says she’s so traumatized by what happened to her as a child, she can’t put her own three year old daughter into daycare because she fears that the same things may happen to her.

“I’m scared to leave my daughter with anybody. I get anxiety just leaving her with somebody – like what are they doing to her?? It really bothers me,” Soto says.

Ruiz-Bojorquez has another court date scheduled for December 7th. She may see a trial some time next spring.
