Security footage captures attempted dog thiefs in Ventura

Security footage from a Ventura animal rescue center captured three individuals attempting to steal a puppy Wednesday evening.

The incident took place at the Paw Works adoption center in the Pacific View Mall shopping center on the 3300 block of East Main Street at around 5 p.m.

According to a post on Paw Works Facebook page , three individuals entered the adoption center and grabbed a puppy named Ripley. They then attempted to leave the building with the dog.

The photos show that two of the three individuals entered the building with two animals already in their possession.

According to the post, one of the suspects was a white/Hispanic female that is approximately 5’4″ tall. She was wearing a black hat, black shirt and blue jeans.

A second white/Hispanic female entered the building with what looked to be a one month old tabby kitten with white paws.

A white/Hispanic male is also seen carrying a dachshund terrier mix.

The owners of the Facebook page say they are concerned that the three individuals may be traveling throughout Ventura County stealing animals.

Anyone with information about the three individuals pictured are asked to contact local law enforcement.
