Teen arrested in Ventura stabbing investigation

UPDATE

A 15-year-old Ventura teen has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old on March 31st near the area of Wake Forrest Avenue and Aurora Drive in the City of Ventura.

The name of the teen suspect was not released because he is a minor. He was taken to Juvenile Hall in Ventura County for assault with a deadly weapon.

Ventura police say the victim is at home recovering from his injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY

Ventura police are looking for a group of teens connected to the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.

The stabbing happened around at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday near the area of Wake Forest Avenue and Aurora Drive.

Police said the teen was walking alone when he was approached by a group of juveniles. One of them is accused of picking a fight with the victim and then at some point, a knife was pulled.

The victim was stabbed multiple times in his leg but managed to escape and run to a nearby shopping center.

The victim was taken to the emergency room at Community Memorial Hospital.
