Rabobank robbed at gunpoint in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara police are investigating a bank robbery at the Rabobank located in the 2200 block of Bath Street.

The incident was reported Wednesday at 3:52 p.m. Police made a perimeter in the area as they searched for the suspect.

Police said the suspect used a semi-automatic handgun during the robbery.

It is believed the suspect is a male adult. Police described the man as being Hispanic, approximately 30-50 years of age, around 5’8″ and about 220 pounds. He was also noted to be clean shaven.

This suspect was last seen leaving the bank on a bicycle.

No arrests have been made. The FBI has been called to assist with the investigation.

This is the second time this particular bank has been robbed. The first robbery occurred on Christmas Eve 2015.

Police ask if anyone observed suspicious people in the area before or the robbery to please call Detective Megan Harrison at 805-897-2343.
