Ventura woman dies after attending Monterey County music festival

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman who died at the hospital after attending a music festival near the border of Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Baylee Ybarra Gatlin, 20, of Ventura died at Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton after being transported there following a medical emergency early Sunday morning .

Gatlin was attending the ‘Lightning in a Bottle’ music festival at Lake San Antonio near Bradley in Monterey County.

An estimated 25,000 people attended the three-day music festival over Memorial Day weekend. It was the fourth year Monterey County hosted the event.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating and trying to determine the circumstances that led to Gatlin’s death.
