A 50-foot by 30-foot spot fire along U.S. Highway 101 just north of the Garden Street off ramp kept Santa Barbara City fire crews busy Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out just after 1 p.m. in an area that described as being occupied by a homeless encampment.

No injuries were reported and firefighters were able to quickly douse the flames. Santa Barbara police and California Highway Patrol assisted with the incident.
