Tourist cited for climbing Morro Rock

An illegal climber was assisted off Morro Rock in Morro Bay Sunday afternoon.

The illegal climber was a tourist from Bakersfield.

Morro Bay Fire helped the illegal climber get down from the iconic volcanic plug.

According to Morro Bay Fire on Twitter, the climber was cited by California State Parks and the City of Morro Bay will likely fine the individual as well.
