Hundreds attend Airport Day in Santa Ynez

Hundreds of curious people and airplane enthusiasts gathered at the Santa Ynez Aiport on Saturday for the annual Airport Day celebration.

The event offered spectators a chance to get up close and personal with a number of different types of aircrafts including a search and rescue helicopter, World War II style prop planes and modern day gliders.

Free airplane rides were even offered for children between the ages of eight and seventeen.

Bouncing houses and treats were available to keep the younger kids entertained. Visitors were also treated to free drinks, burgers and hot dogs.

The local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association helped organize the event along with airport staff.
