Lompoc police inadvertently find drugs inside car after traffic stop

Lompoc police inadvertently discovered 5.1 ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of $14,500 after impounding a car following a traffic stop.

The incident occurred at 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the vehicle was driven by 25-year-old Eddie Morello Jr. They say Morello was driving with a suspended driver’s license resulting in his arrest.

Not only did police discover meth inside the car after a subsequent search, but authorities say they also found 4.9 grams of marijuana and 0.8 grams of heroin.

Morello was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and transportation of a controlled substance. He was booked into Lompoc City Jail.
