Assemblywoman Monique Limon hosting hike with community

State Assemblywoman Monique Limon (D-Santa Barbara) will be hosting a 2-mile hike on the Jesusita Trail in Santa Barbara to meet and greet, and listen to community concerns.

The trailhead begins at Stevens Park located at 258 Canon Drive near the Cater water treatment plant at the end of San Roque Road on Saturday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m.

“My goal as an elected official is really to connect with the community. Connect with the community any way we can. And so this ‘Hike with Monique’ is a way that they connect with me, their representative, but also connect with our natural environment,” said Limon.

“I think the neat thing about doing this particular model–having a hike–is that they can come with anything or with nothing or a lot or a little but I think that’s what makes this a very unique connection opportunity,” Limon said. “That they can just be there to do the hike, to have a good time, to meet other people, or they can really take the opportunity to talk to me about what their issues and concerns are. Either way, we’re there to hear them but also there to be out in our community–the community that, you know, we’re part of.”
