Parma Park suggestions requested from the public in Santa Barbara

There may be some changes with the trails at a 200 acre park in Santa Barbara, but first the public is being asked to comment.

Parma Park is behind most of the residential area of Santa Barbara and tucked up towards the hills.

It became a city park in 1973 but has history back to the purchase in the late 1800’s by Giovanni Parma.

The trails go in various directions, but one takes hikers to a vista point with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, Montecito and Gibraltar Peak.

It’s a popular site for dog lovers.

The Santa Barbara Park and Recreation Department has an on line survey for park users to fill out if they have some comments about the trails and a future restoration plan.

It asks about their use of the park, how far away they live, and some suggestions on the park in general.

There are 10 questions and room for some comments.
