Cachuma Lake stocked with 4,000 pounds of new fish

A large fish plant has taken place at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara County.

4,000 pounds ranging in size from half a pound “catchables,” to eight pound “trophies” were released Tuesday.

Just about two months ago, another 4,000 pounds were released.

This comes at a time when the lake is about 92 percent below its spill level.

The trout have been brought in from the Mt. Lassen Trout Farms, Inc., in Paynes Creek, California.

Fishing has been called consistently good from the shoreline and from boats. In addition to the trout, Cachuma also has bass, crappie and channel catfish.
