2.8 magnitude earthquake reported off coast of Santa Barbara

The United States Geological Survey reported a 2.8 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Santa Barbara Saturday afternoon.

The earthquake’s epicenter was just over 12 kilometers south southwest off the Santa Barbara coastline, between Santa Cruz island.

The earthquake was small in size and lasted briefly but some residents did report feeling a jolt.

Two additional aftershocks were reported within an hour of the original quake. Those earthquakes measured at 2.6 magnitude and 3.2 magnitude/
